These terms apply to your use of Ride Studio. Your plan and the price shown before you subscribe form part of the agreement. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

The service and its limits

Ride Studio stores your surf footage and provides video-based analysis for reviewing your riding. Results are estimates derived from the evidence in a clip. Camera movement, image quality, obstructions, rider visibility and scale information can affect what we can measure reliably.

Before analysis you confirm the rider and their height. We detect the rider’s stance from their movement; you can change it on the ride, and front and rear readings update without another analysis.

Processing happens in the background and usually takes 5–10 minutes, sometimes longer when demand is high. We email you when the result is ready or if processing fails. We do not promise an instant result or a fixed turnaround unless we expressly agree one. Body measurements may appear before the full analysis finishes. Missing, incomplete or unreliable measurements are identified in the app.

Use the analysis to support your own review. It is not medical advice, a safety assessment or a substitute for qualified instruction and your own judgement in the water. We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill.

Your account and footage

Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. Provide accurate information where it affects processing, including the selected rider and their height.

You retain your rights in your footage. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display it to you and people you authorise, as necessary to provide and support Ride Studio. This does not grant us a general right to publish your footage or use it in advertising.

Only upload content you have the right to use. Obtain any required permission from the rider, filmer and other people shown; for a child, obtain the appropriate parent or guardian’s permission. Do not upload unlawful content, attempt to access another customer’s data, abuse the upload allowance or interfere with the service.

The upload limits and filming guidance shown in the app apply. Session footage can be up to five minutes and 1 GB; you choose one wave of under 30 seconds to save and analyse, and the session is removed after seven days. A direct single-ride upload is limited to 30 seconds and 95 MB. Very high frame-rate footage may need to be shorter, and other technical limits are checked before processing.

Your free ride and paid plans

Each person gets one free upload, including its analysis with the detailed Pro measurements. No card is required, and it does not automatically start a paid subscription.

Starter and Pro are monthly subscriptions. Starter costs £12 a month for five uploads with core measurements. Pro costs £29 a month for twenty uploads with every measurement, section breakdowns, distributions and side-by-side comparison. The plan comparison and checkout show the current price and features, and the total charge and any applicable taxes are shown before payment. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled.

Each ride you save uses one upload, and its analysis is included: starting or retrying the analysis of that ride does not use another. Uploading session footage does not use an allowance until you save a wave. A save that fails returns the allowance; deleting a saved ride does not. Unused monthly uploads do not roll over.

Pro-only features require Pro access, except where expressly included with your free ride or complimentary access. Saved videos and core measurements remain accessible after cancellation under the service’s current saved-access arrangements.

Payments, changes and cancellation

Stripe handles payments and the billing portal. You can view invoices, update your payment method, change plans or cancel renewal from Plan & billing.

Upgrades may charge a proportional amount immediately; the portal shows that amount before you confirm. Downgrades and cancellation normally take effect at the end of the current paid period. Cancelling renewal stops future subscription charges but does not automatically request a refund or delete your account.

Promotional offers follow their stated conditions. PH1MONTH gives eligible new monthly Starter or Pro subscribers 100% off their first invoice. The normal monthly price applies afterwards unless you cancel before renewal. The offer has no cash value.

If payment fails, paid features or further uploads may be unavailable. We will make a material change to your subscription price clear before it takes effect and give you the opportunity to cancel future renewal.

Your right to cancel a new contract

If you are a UK consumer subscribing online, you normally have 14 days from entering the subscription contract to tell us you wish to cancel it. This is separate from cancelling the next renewal in the billing portal. Email [email protected] with your account email, subscription date and a clear statement that you are cancelling the contract.

You can use this wording: “I give notice that I cancel my Ride Studio subscription contract. Account email: [your email]. Subscription date: [date]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today’s date].” You do not have to use a particular form.

Where a cancellation refund is due, we make it within 14 days of your cancellation notice, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise. We will honour applicable cancellation and refund rights. We do not treat viewing an analysis as an automatic waiver of those rights. Nothing in these terms or our voluntary guarantee limits your statutory remedies for a service that is not supplied as agreed or with reasonable care and skill.

If consumer law where you live gives you additional mandatory rights, these terms do not take them away.

If a result looks wrong

Contact us within 30 days of receiving the result and we will review it ourselves. If it is wrong, we will put it right, including analysing the ride manually where needed, so you get the analysis you need. This does not use another upload. If you are still not satisfied, our analysis guarantee refunds that ride’s share of the payment for its billing month.

That share is the amount actually paid for the month divided by the uploads included in the plan. At the standard prices, this is £2.40 for Starter or £1.45 for Pro. Multiple refunds for a month are capped at the amount paid for that month. Free or fully discounted analyses have no payment to refund.

The guarantee does not refund earlier unused subscription months. Its 30-day request window and calculation apply to the voluntary guarantee only; your legal rights remain unchanged.

Availability and responsibility

We may carry out maintenance, improve the algorithms or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service or address a serious breach of these terms. Where practical, we will explain a suspension and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue.

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.

Keep an original copy of footage you want to preserve. Ride Studio is an analysis service and should not be your only archive. This does not remove our responsibility to take reasonable care of information entrusted to us.

Questions and changes to these terms

Contact [email protected] about the service, a result, billing or a complaint. We will try to resolve the issue directly with you.

We may update these terms to reflect service or legal changes. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they affect an existing paid subscription. They will not retrospectively remove rights you already have.
